High School Football
Today’s Quote: “Good night, ladies, good night. Sweet ladies, good night, good night.” Hamlet 4.5.72-73
Fall is definitely in the air. The nights are cooler, the air feels different, and the kids are back in school. But most important of all…football has started again, soon to be followed by my favorite sport, hockey! I’m having lots of fun going to my nephew’s high school football games. The third game of the season will be tonight. I know that when I’m actually at a game, I miss some of the game because I’m busy people watching or talking to whomever I’m attending the game with. But, it’s still lots of fun. I’m so blessed to be able to live close to family so I can attend the sporting events and concerts and whatever else comes up.
Northville is now 1-1. Tonight they play Walled Lake Western, and it is the first home game of the season. I’ll get to hear the band tonight. It was fun being in marching band, even if it did mean every Friday night from September–early November was booked. I love watching the kids at a home game. My younger nephew likes to go and hang out with his buddies. I don’t know how much of the game they actually watch, but they have fun being there.
One of Northville’s rival, maybe the biggest, is Novi. My niece Kayla (who is now in 10th grade and part of the pom pon squad) attends Novi. She informed me that when Novi plays Northville on October 20, I need to wear something with both school colors! I thought that was funny. She takes the rivalry very serious. (I used to too, now that I think about it!) All of them do. It’s fun to hear my nieces (2 attend Novi, 1 attends Northville, and one graduated from Northville) and nephews (both attend Northville) talk about which school is better. I think the Northville-Novi game this year will be lots of fun. I wonder what Kayla will say if I’m only wearing Northville colors…!
Enjoy your weekend. Take time out to attend a high school football game, if you can. Its lots of fun!
Blessings!
