He's In the Army Now...
Today's Tidbit: According the "The Shakespeare Book of Lists", since 1775 there have been 13 women who have played the role of Hamlet. Most have played it as aman, but there have been a few times when Hamlet was a Princess of Denmark, instead of a Prince!
Since new home building is slow right now, our superintendent decided to look for another opportunity. He found one...in the army! At the age of 45, he rejoined the army and volunteered to serve in Iraq. He signed up for a five year stint.
He said he enjoyed serving when he was younger. He figured now he could "make a difference with the young people in the military with his maturity and leadership skills gained over the last 21 years". He told me he felt this was something he should be doing. He plans on staying in the army for the rest of his career (about 15 years before he could retire).
He reported to Fort Still, OK for four days of processing on September 27. He will then spend four weeks at the White Sands missile Range in New Mexico. After that, he will report to Fort Leonard Wood, MO for military police training. He should be shipping out to Iraq sometime after the first of the year. Please add Matt to your prayer list for those who are serving overseas. Also add his long time girlfriend Marie, whose son also leaves for Iraq or Afghanistan after the first of the year.
